Canton – On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Linda Montene Stamey Williams, a beloved and gracious lady, entered into her Heavenly home.

Montene's life journey began on March 6, 1947, being born to the late George Liston Stamey and the late Margaret Ileta Hall Stamey.

She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County, and Montene had been employed as a medical secretary with several medical facilities throughout the area. Together with her husband Troy, she enjoyed camping at Little River where wonderful memories were made, and also accompanying him across the United States on his long-distance trucking trips. Waynesville was a favorite place where Montene and her sister Carole enjoyed shopping and casually strolling along the downtown streets. Her most precious moments were always spent with her family, and she held a deep love for each and every one of them. Mrs. Williams was a member of West Canton Baptist Church where she was also a member of the church choir. The life of Montene Williams has been a blessing to those who knew her and loved her.
