Roger Russell Miller, son of Russell and Marjorie Miller, was born in Chamberlain, SD on December 7th 1944 and passed away on June 7, 2022 at the age of 77.

He grew up in Chamberlain, SD and Pukwana, SD on the family farm. After High School, he went to college in Aberdeen, SD and then into the US Army followed by service in the SD Army National Guard in Sioux Falls, SD. He married and had two daughters, Michelle and Holly. He moved to Lincoln and then settled in Crete, NE for the majority of his life. During this stage in his life he was so active, it's hard to name them all but he played or enjoyed to do so much, these are a few of his interests: basketball, baseball, football, softball, bowling, playing cards, golf, pool league, dancing, gardening, hunting, fishing, boating, going to live concerts, watching any football game, but especially the Nebraska Huskers, to name a few!! He forever chanted far and wide GOOO BIIIGGGG REDD!!! He never missed a chance to attend his kids and grandkids events, all kinds of events. From music and speech to all the sports they were in. His feet were always in motion, working on the farm, holding many jobs and most importantly, his business Great Plains Feeds!! He did that up until this very last year; he loved it and enjoyed it so very much! Roger loved to show all his family and friends Chamberlain, SD, as he would say "Come see God's country!" He was an active member in the American Legion and Eagles Club for over 40 years. He was always willing to help and as the saying goes, "He would give the shirt off his back if a fellow man needed it!" He never met a stranger; friends were family and were always welcome, as his door was always open to all! He rarely missed a Husker football game. Every day he spread joy, when asked, how are you? (And in his words, "The best I have ever been.") He believed in a positive attitude and how far it will take you in life. Treat others how you want to be treated, people matter, things don't! He will always be "KING OF THE ROAD".

Celebration of Life will be held at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete, NE on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 4:00 PM. A reception will follow the service at the Eagles Club, Crete, NE. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date at St. Vencels Bohemian National Cemetery in Pukwana, SD. Memorials to the Denton American Legion. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, NE.
