William "Macky" McAlister Hill, 85, of Ravenel, husband of Mable Audrey Tumbleston Hill, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main St., Summerville, SC 29483. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:30 in the morning at Sauldam Baptist Church, 5945 County Line Road, Ravenel, SC 29470. Burial to follow at White Church Cemetery in Ravenel. Macky was born on September 30, 1936 in Charleston, son of the late Walter McAlister and Ethel Thomas Hill of Ravenel. He was a devoted husband of 65 years to Mable whom he had known and adored almost all of his life. He graduated from St. Paul's High School in Hollywood, SC and joined the Naval Reserves. He then served as a magistrate for Charleston County for many years. In his 30s, he enrolled in Baptist College and obtained his Bachelor's Degree. In line with his belief of constant self improvement, he then obtained a law degree from the University of South Carolina Law School. He used the law firm he established in Ravenel to fulfil his commitment to serve all the communities of the area he loved so much. Often he did this work for free or in return for delicious farm produce from his cash poor clients. Macky spent 40 years doing this with integrity, wise cracks and infectIous humor. He also served a Masonic Master for Jacksonboro Lodge 206 AFM. Macky was an avid golfer and a member of Stono Ferry for many years.In addition to his wife, Mable, survivors include four children: Yvonne Hill Herold (Michael) of Daniel Island; William McAlister "Bubba" Hill (Barbara) of Ravenel; George Thomas "Tommy" Hill (Teresa) of Ravenel; and Christina "Chrissy" Marie Hill of London, England. Eleven grandchildren; Jennyffer, Audrey, Mac, Harlan, Brennan, Chase, Chelsa, Jackson, Mason, Alice, and Daphne and three great-grandchildren: Damien, Ashara, and Camilla and many nieces and nephews. Macky was predeceased by a brother; Lewis Ernest Hill and a sister; Marguerite "Sissy" Krauk.
