Cyrus Jacob White Sr. was the son of Cyrus (Syrus) White and Catherine M Crawford. He married 1st Missouri Hodges on March 23, 1924 at Charlton County Georgia. After her death in 1941, he moved to Jacksonville and was working at the shipyards when he married Hytha Phillips, a young girl of 17 although she claimed to be 21 on their marriage license. They were married March 29, 1945 in Jacksonville.
Hytha was born March 7, 1928 in Sequatchie, Tennessee, though she claimed to be born in Chattanooga, to Oscar and Vinnie Phillips.. She is listed as being an Indian on the 1930 census but of the White race after that. . After Cyrus' death in 1967 she apparently moved to Appling County Georgia and died there in December 1997.
