LIVERPOOL - Mr. Clarence Percy "Tub" Williamson, 70, of Liverpool, entered into eternal rest at 9:35 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2008 at his residence.
He was born on August 10, 1936 at Liverpool, PA, a son of the late George Franklin and Mary I. (Minium) Williamson. On June 23, 1956, he married the former Pattye E. Piper, who preceded him in death on June 19, 2001.
Tub graduated in 1954 from Greenwood High School, Millerstown. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4, from January 27, 1960 until his honorable discharge on March 2, 1962. Following his military service, Mr. Williamson worked as a bricklayer for Houck Construction, Harrisburg, PA.
He then was employed for 16 years by the United States Postal Service in Harrisburg, as a mail carrier. he retired on disability in 1995. His church membership was Central Baptist Church, Millerstown. He was also a member of the Liverpool American Legion, Post #364 and its Home Association; the Liverpool Ambulance League; and the Liverpool Recreational Association. Additionally, Mr. Williamson was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Association of Retired Persons.
At one time, he served as Constable for the borough of Liverpool. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed attending Greenwood High School sports events. Hunting and fishing were also great past time hobbies. Tub was a wonderful people person, who loved to socialize with everyone.
Surviving are 4 children: a son, Randall E. Williamson and wife, Denice C., 3 daughters, Julie A. Vitale and husband, Donald C., and Susan K. Webb and husband, Matthew, all of Mechanicsburg and Carol L. Garside and husband, Glenn M., at home; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Williamson; and a sister, Delores Stahr and husband, John of Port Trevorton, PA.
The family will receive friends for the viewing on Sunday evening, January 20, 2008 from 7-9 p.m., at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Inc., 606 N. Front Street, Liverpool, PA. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11 a.m., from the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert J. Meyer officiating. Burial with military honors accorded by the Liverpool American Legion, Post #364, will be made in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
