Robert "Bobby" Terry
August 25, 1960 - June 8, 2022Share Obituary:

Robert Terry, affectionately known as Bobby, passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, in Franklin, Louisiana.

Bobby was a special needs child, born on August 25, 1960 with Down's syndrome. He had a pure heart of gold, though mixed with an ounce of mischief. He loved playing jokes on his family, from the "fooly fool" jokes, to short sheeting a bed, to pouring salt on the sheets, he was certain to pull one over on them any chance he had. If you were fortunate to cross paths with Bobby you were guaranteed to receive one of his amazing hugs that he freely gave to all. He truly never met a stranger and loved introducing his family to his "friends" who was anyone who caught his eye. Bobby always spread his love and shared his beautiful smile generously, often with an added wink or blowing a kiss. He loved to dance, and whether it was at a wedding or in his front yard, he gave it his all. If he was in the front yard, almost every car would honk at him and he would wave - every time. A light has gone out on this side of eternity, but heaven is definitely brighter with Bobby in the ranks.

His Arc of St Mary Center of Hope family shared this about Bobby. Our community loved being around Bobby. People were drawn to his lighthearted personality and his quick wit! Bobby stole the show anytime he walked into a room, because he brought love and laughter to everyone around him.

Bobby's memory will forever live in the hearts of his sister, Linda Fouquier; his two brothers, Mark E. Terry and his wife Karen and Larry G. Terry and his wife Carrie; his sister-in-law, André Terry Bodin; his nieces and nephews, Mikey Fouquier and his fiancée Erica, Michelle Reed and her husband Joey, Clay Terry and his wife Bridget, Clint Terry and his wife Paula, Liz Lawton and her husband Nick, Brendan Terry and his wife Chelsie, and Ashton Terry and her fiancé Waylan; his many great nieces and great nephews; his close friends, Mary Ayo and Loretta DesHotels; as well as a host of extended family and friends whom he adored dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy E. "Bud" Terry and Lena Mae Perera Terry; his sister, Mary Terry; his brother, Garry Terry; as well as by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville during an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Father Joel Faulk will officiate the Mass with Clay Boudreaux providing the music.

The family requests visiting hours be observed Wednesday at the church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 10:15 AM led by the Franklin Men's Ultreya Group. Following the Mass he will be laid to rest next to his parents in St. Joseph Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mikey Fouquier, Brendan Terry, Clay Terry, Dwayne Hebert, Clint Terry, Nick Lawton, and Joey Reed, with Tanner Reed and Austin Reed as honorary pallbearers.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Roland Degeyter and his staff, the staff of Legacy of Franklin Nursing Center, as well to the staff of Heart of Hospice. Your loving and compassionate care will never be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA 70538, (337) 828-5426.
