His family moved to South Miami in the early 50's. Jim graduated from Southwest Miami High School. Following graduation he attended Walbash College then served in the United States Navy in the submarine service and received his college degree while serving.
In 1966 he met and married Tina Willson and they lived in South FL until moving to Ocala in 1990. They celebrated 55 years of marriage last November.
Jim worked in automotive finance through out his working career. He was well known in the automotive finance business in South Florida as well as Marion county. He worked at Palm Chevrolet before becoming finance director at Sullivan Automotive Group. He decided to retire but that made him restless and he returned to the business working at Key Scales Ford and Ocala Volvo/Subaru.
Jim was a member of the Ocala Elks Lodge #286 for many years. He also was an avid fisherman, enjoying fishing throughout the lakes in central Florida.
He is survived by his wife Tina, his son James Roberts, his daughter Kristin Keclik and her husband Honz, his granddaughter Delaney and his grandson Connor.
