He was born on August 6, 1948, in Tyronza, Arkansas, to Mr. Sidney Jackson Phillips and Mrs. Virgie Mae Crouch Phillips. Surviving him are his wife of over 47 years Patricia Phillips; son, Sidney Phillips, four grandchildren, Harley, Kennedy, Jacob, and Maddie; one brother Eddie (Rhonda); and four sisters, Peggy Lindley, Rosemary Collins (Gene), Marie Ham (Billy), and Barbara Phillips. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, B. J., and one brother Danny Lee Phillips.
