Second Husband: David M. Davis - 1919-2015 - m. 2001
Cape Cod Chronicle - 23 May 2022 - Joan Flash Davis, 93, of Harwich Port, died at Cape Cod Hospital on March 28, 2022. Born May 22,1928 in Winchester, Massachusetts to parents James Pine and Ysabel Cooper Pine, she spent her early years at the Coast Guard Academy in New London Connecticut piloting a small sailing dinghy and delighting in double and triple feature movies. She graduated from Connecticut College in 1950. In 1952, at about the time her parents relocated to South Harwich, she married Alexander (Sandy) Flash, moved to Loomis School, and spent the next 47 years raising three spirited children and dividing time between Windsor and Connecticut and Cape Cod. Widowed in 1999, she married David M. Davis of Harwich Port in 2001 and moved to a house overlooking Whychmere harbor where she lived until she died, observing the nesting habits of osprey and warmly welcoming a parade of friends and family. Her family is simultaneously devastated at losing her and appreciative of her long life, her loving outlook and her perpetual curiosity. She was such a beautiful person.
Preceded in death by both husbands, she is survived by children Anne Hattersley Flash (Robert Gaston), Pamela Flash (Larry Prinds), and David Alexander Flash (Elaine Orr), grandchildren Zoe Prinds-Flash, Willa Tellekson-Flash, and Claire Tellekson-Flash. Survivors also include members of her Davis family: Diana Kornet (John), Helen Preston, Both Booth (Nick) and Edward Davis (Deborah). In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations may consider the League of Women Voters, or the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
