Robert W. Patterson, Sr., 79, of Little York Road, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Ellis Hospital following months of declining health.

Born November 6, 1942, in the town of Seward, NY, he was the son of William and Betty (Ostrander) Patterson.

Bob retired as an engineering designer for General Electric in Schenectady. He also owned and operated Patterson & Son Sharpening Services from 1983 until his health started to fail in March of 2022. In his leisure time, Bob loved to bowl, camp and travel. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing music and drag racing in his early years. Time spent with this family, grandchildren, and friends was what he treasured the most in life.

Cherishing their memories are his wife, Elizabeth A. (Probst) Patterson, whom he married August 4, 1963; his children: Robert (Michele) Patterson, Jr. of Levittown, PA, Donald (Caryl) Patterson of Clay, NY and Sandra Rotolo (Howard Hotaling) of Cobleskill; three sisters: Jane Butler of State College, PA, Joan D'Orazio of Sarasota, FL, and Nancy (William) Lape of Richmondville; seven grandchildren: Laura Diamond, Nicole Rotolo, Trisha Rotolo, Katryna Lawyer, Jacob Patterson, Kyle Patterson, and Sarah Patterson and three great-grandchildren: Emily Reber, Cassondra Diamond and Liliana Lawyer.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at 12PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, where a visitation will be held at 11AM until 12PM. Officiating will be Robert Stark, lay speaker. Burial will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
