Robert "Paul" Jaynes made his transition from this life to Heaven on June 5, 2022, at the age of 91.

Paul was born to Robert A. and Paulene W. Jaynes on July 26, 1930 in Rossville, Illinois. He had 3 sisters, Dororthy (Ray) Vanvickle and Lois (Charles) Green, both deceased, and Donna (Richard) Anderson of Danville, Illinois..

Paul met the love of his life, Dorothy "Arlene" Howard Jaynes in November of 1954. They married on February 23, 1956. They had two sons, Perry (Charlotte) Jaynes, who predeceased him on June 15, 2021, and John (Susan) Jaynes of Lewisville, North Carolina. Paul also had a daughter from a previous marriage, Paula (Bruce) Randolph of Lafayette, Indiana.

Paul is survived by 6 grandchildren, Adam Jaynes of Louisville, Kentucky, Lauren (Scott) Korfhage of Louisville, Kentucky, Shelby (Steve) Kittrell of Nashville, Tennessee, Brandon (Savanna) Jaynes of Charlotte, North Carolina, Troy Wallen of Tucson, Arizona and Belinda Dewey of Liberty Township, Ohio. He also is survived by 7 great grandchildren. One grandchild, Brent Randolph, predeceased
him.

Paul farmed for 14 years in Vermilion County, Illinois before he became an assistant manager for FS in Kankakee, Illinois. In 1972 the family moved back to Potomac and Paul became owner of Hoopeston Implement and Company in Hoopeston. In 1978, he sold the business and continued to work in the implement business for several more years until his retirement.

Paul enjoyed being around and conversing with family and friends. He loved watching his family play various sport competitions and was their greatest fan/supporter. He had a great passion to play various types of board and card games with his family and friends. He loved to win, but also knew how to lose.

Paul was a member and involved with many organizations over his lifetime. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Danville, Illinois, Past Potomac School Board Member, Korean War Veterans Association in Danville, Collison Lodge #714 Mason, Danville Consistory 32-degree Mason - Danville, IL and the American Legion.
