Union Civil War veteran. He served first in Company D, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged Jan. 8, 1863 on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. After regaining his health he re-enlisted in Company H, 150th Ohio Infantry, May 4, 1864, and was mustered out Aug. 23, 1864. His grave was unmarked until 2008 when a headstone was obtained and placed by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. His name appears twice in the Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Public Square, Cleveland, OH--on Panel #13 for the 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and on Panel #21 for the 150th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
