Jean was born August 30, 1936 in Lincoln, NE to George and Blanche (Johnston) Lawson. She was raised in Lincoln, NE and received her education from Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1954. On March 30, 1956, Jean was united in marriage to Alan Holt. To this union, 4 children were blessed. Jean was later united in marriage to Darrell Manning on December 10, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV until his death in 1999.
Jean was a longtime member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church where she played the organ for 25 years. She was a past member of Kearney Quilter's Guild and sang with the Sweet Adaline's. Jean enjoyed quilting, singing, swimming, and traveling.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry Holt of Hastings, Joni (Jay) Strahm of Broomfield, CO, Laura (Allen) Clevenger of Crook, CO, and John (Jackie) Holt of Loomis; 13 grandchildren, Shelby Andersen-Holt, Nicholas Andersen-Holt, Jessica (Gil Montenegro) Strahm and their daughter, Rylee, Jordan Strahm, Jacob Strahm, Brady (Faith) Clevenger and their daughter, Eden, Justin (Ailene) Clevenger, Troy (Sydney) Clevenger, Joshua Holt, J.C. (Kylen) Holt, Joe Holt, Jory Holt, and Autumn Holt; 2 great grandchildren, and Eden; several step grandchildren; sisters, Blanche Riordan of Des Moines, IA, and Margaret Potter of St. Petersburg, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Darrell.
