Dorothy Ann Jones was born on September 29, 1937 to Elmo Edward (Bo) Meador and wife G.V. at their home in Kirbyville, Texas (future site of Max Mixson Memorial Clinic).

Dorothy made her career as the first female operator at Lufkin Industries in Lufkin, Texas.

Life began when she married James Roy "Jughead" Jones. They fished, traveled, worked together in his Gunsmith Shop, both were dog lovers, and raised Longhorn Cattle.

After a long battle with health issues, Dorothy (Mammy/Aunt Dot) passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family members on May 28, 2022.

Dorothy is survived by her honorary daughter, Mary Balew of Kirbyville, honorary granddaughter Ciara Ferguson and husband Bryan of Old Salem, honorary grandson Shelby Balew of Kirbyville, honorary great grandsons Bryan and Brady Ferguson of Old Salem, sister Tressie Lisotta and husband Sammy of Singer, Louisiana, an especially close nephew Edward Lisotta and wife Brenda of Vinton, Louisiana and nephew Daniel Lisotta of Singer, Louisiana, as well as nieces Cindy Fussell and husband Roger of Silsbee and Debbie Skinner andhusband Daryl of Kirbyville.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elmos Edward and G.V. Meador, a brother David Harrison Hollan and her husband James Roy Jones.
