She earned her BS from Bucknell University and her Master's from Duquesne University. She began her career at PPG Industries and her hard work led to her current position as Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety at KIK Consumer Products. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Bill Steele; paternal grandparents, Burmon and Rose Burgess; and maternal grandparents, Lois and George Seaman. Surviving are her parents, Bob (Carolyn) Burgess and Sally Steele; daughter, Katelyn Rose Leffler; and sister, Robin Robinson (Dennis).
