Thank you for being thorough regarding your memorials. I have attached records and a photograph. I am comfortable I have given you correct information. Fulton Griffin was my grandmother's great-uncle. She said he became somewhat of a transient when his first wife Martha D. Mattie Edwards Griffin died in 1897. He left his 3 children with relatives, remarried and moved all around according to her. She also said he never came back and was buried up north in a pauper's grave. In the 1870 census in Union County, NC Fulton is w with his parents Jacob Kinley Griffin and Elizabeth Davis Griffin please note his sister Cornelia Ellen Griffin and brother Edwond Wilson Griffin. 1880 census he was still with his parents. He married Martha D. Mattie Edwards in 1891 and had 3 children Myers Vance Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin and Sara Arminta ( called Minta) Griffin Bishop. Sarah was named after her maternal grandmother Sarah Arminta Curlee Edwards. I am sure that was where the Mattie Curlee came from on Fulton's death certificate. In 1900 we find Fulton a single, widowed, boarder who was a railroad man, still in North Carolina. in 1900 his three children Myers, Elizabeth and Minta were with Fulton's sister Cornelia Ellen Griffin Jerome. 1904 Fulton married Rebeca Ann Segars still in NC. Please note his parents' names on the marriage certificate. In 1908 Fulton and Beckie were in Florida. In 1910 Fulton was in Virginia with his second wife Beckie and their two sons Paul and Robert E. Griffin. In 1910 his children with his first wife Mattie Edwards, Myers, Elizabeth and Minta were living with their uncle Edmund Wilson Griffin who informally adopted them. In 1914 his daughter Elizabeth commits suicide, her death certificate lists her parents as HT Griffin and Mattie Edwards. In 1920 and 1922 Fulton and Beckie were in Georgia with their children Paul, Robert E, Kinley (I am sure he was named for his paternal grandfather Jacob Kinley Griffin) and Wade. In 1921 his son Myers is married in PA, lists his father a railroad worker living in Georgia and his mother dead. Myers was also a railroad worker. Myers died in 1927 and his death certificate lists his parents as Fulton Griffin and Mattie Edwards. April 3, 1930 when the 1930 census was enumerated in Charlotte NC Beckie, now calling herself Anne is widowed with her sons Robert, Kinley who is now going by Kent and Wade. Beckie Anne Segars Griffin died in 1947 and her death certificate indicates she is widowed but does not indicate her husband's name. Sarah Arminta Griffin Bishop died in 1956 and her death certificate lists Fulton Griffin and Mattie Edwards as her parents. The photo attached is of Fulton's sister Mary Jane Griffin Moore who was my gg grandmother. Please advise if this information meets your requirements.
