She was raised in the Ames, Oklahoma area where she attended the Christian Church, Cimarron Valley and Ames High Schools.
A good friend introduced her to Jon Richard Donnell, who she would eventually marry, move to Enid, and together, would raise two sons.
Some time later, she met and would marry Robert "Bob" Allen. They worked at the State School together until retirement, moved to Rockport, Texas and would both become active in the American Legion. She was very happy there and made many new friends. She then moved back to Enid in 2013 and worked at Arbors Assisted Living for six years.
Loretta loved life, her friends, and her family. She had a strong, caring, and maternal personality that brought love and joy to all she knew.
She is survived by, her son Ric Donnell, her son Kelly Donnell and his wife Sheila, stepdaughters Gay Evans, Kay Norten, Sue Marquez, and Debi Adams, a brother Bob Detrick and his wife Joyce, a sister Reatha Marlatt, and her husband Charles and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Neily Detrick, her "Auntie" Ethel Bartley, an older brother Dale, step son Bobbie, step daughter Terri, and both husbands.
