Connie Jo Johnson, age 79, of Pierce City, MO went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She has been reunited with her husband, Roger Lee Johnson, who preceded her in death on April 30, 1983.

Connie was born and raised in Northeast Oklahoma on Friday, November 6, 1942. She married the love of her life, Roger Lee Johnson, on July 12, 1959. From that union, two daughters were born, Janene and Julie, both of Pierce City. Connie considered Shelly Flummerfelt of Pierce City her third daughter. Her dearest friend of over 50 years was Carolyn (Raley) England who was also considered part of the family.

Also surviving is one sister, Billie Fisher of Coweta, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Holmes and his wife Dee, of Coweta, Oklahoma.

Also surviving are her two grand cats, El-Lee May and Sadee Lu. Connie was very proud of her Indian heritage. Her grandparents were full-blooded Cherokee Indians whom she enjoyed spending time with when she was a child.

Connie loved her church home "Chapel of Grace" in Monett. She served as coordinator of the 5th Wheels group at the church that was for widows and widowers who got together each month for an outing to share time in fellowship. She also was the greeter at church each Sunday morning and handed out the bulletin.

People that knew Connie knew what a great sense of humor she had. Her sense of humor will be missed but never forgotten.

Connie has always told people how she knew firsthand that God answers prayers because she would say, "As a little girl, I prayed each night that I would find a wonderful man to be my husband and that we would have two little girls." Her prayers were answered.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be at Chapel of Grace in Monett, MO on June 10, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jimmie Finch and Pastor Doug Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
