Mr. John F. O'Brien, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Alamo Heights, Texas. He was born on December 17, 1927, in Chelsea, Massachusetts to John J. and Genevieve (Bettencourt) O'Brien. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

He married Erma Mock Ketchersid February 6, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas

During their retirement years, John and Erma enjoyed traveling in their RV and volunteering at our nation's national parks. He volunteered for many years with the Special Olympics and Elf Louise. He remained active playing golf, solving crossword puzzles and participating in the many activities offered at Franklin Park of Alamo Heights.

John is survived by his loving wife; his children; his 11 grandchildren and his 5 great-grandchildren.

A committal service with Army Military Honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a future date.
