David G. Pitchford went home to be with the Lord on May 27th, 2022. He was born September 28th, 1937 in Carrollton, Illinois, the son of Elwood and Frances Weiss (Woody and Frankie) Pitchford. In 1960 he met Norma Straube and they were married on June 11th, 1965.

David was employed by the Alton School District in maintenance for 35 years prior to retiring from there. David and Norma were inseparable. They served the Lord faithfully at Delhi Baptist Church. They maintained the church grounds, kept records for Sunday School and the AWANA club. David also served as a Trustee for many years. David's other passion was trains. He enjoyed collecting them, displaying them and also going on train vacations.

David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma; a brother, Mike (Pauline); sister-in-law, Charlotte Schaefer. Along with nieces, Kimberly and Robin; and nephew, Robert Jr. He was proceeded in death by his parents Woody and Frankie Pitchford; a brother, Robert; and a brother-in-law, Dale Schaefer.

The Funeral will take place on June 1st, 2022 at Delhi Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m.. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place following the funeral at the Brighton City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Delhi Baptist Church.
