Mary L. Jones (nee Patrick) age 88, formerly Mary Gardner, transitioned to her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2022.

Beloved mother of Robert (the late Donna) Gardner, Jr., Mary E. Harris, James H. Gardner, (the late) Diane Butler, LaVerne Gardner, Anthony R. Gardner, Sr., Douglas Gardner, Leroy Gardner, Lee A. Gardner, and Christopher L. (Tylisha) Jones. Special mother to (the late) Darren Avery, (the late) Jeffrey (Erica) Avery, Jerome (Sandy) Avery, Sheree Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Myrther Younger, and Felicia Bellamy. Loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to many wonderful children. Dear sister of Pearlie Mae (the late Dewey) Jones, Lurlean (Arthur) Townsend-Grant, and Joe Patrick. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Bonetta Patrick, 5 brothers, her youngest sister, and 4 grandchildren.

She loved playing cards, even learning to play Spades on her tablet in her 80's. Mary also enjoyed playing dominoes, visits to the casino, cooking for her family, and listening to the blues and her gospel music.

She was a southern belle, born in Memphis, TN and later moved to Milwaukee in 1963. Mary was a proud foster parent, extending her boundless love to those who needed it most. She was known as "Mama" to many in her community.

She was loved immensely by those who came into contact with her and will be missed greatly by many.

Visitation to be held on Thursday June 9, 2022 at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53223, from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Entombment to follow at Graceland Cemetery.
