He grew up in Talihina, OK and graduated from High School in 1958. Doyle enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1958 until 1962. He married Shirley Seeds on January 17, 1959 in Yanish, OK. Doyle worked at Vance Air Force Base at Enid, OK starting in 1962 as a Hydraulic specialist aircraft mechanic working for several different companies throughout his career before retiring in 2004. Doyle developed a passion at an early age for hunting and fishing that carried on throughout his life. Later, Doyle and his wife Shirley found a common passion for camping with friends at Oklahoma lakes as well as vacationing with friends in the mountains of Colorado. Doyle was an early member of the Enid Citizen's Band Radio Club where he made many lifelong friendships. Doyle's other hobbies included working with leather, motorcycling, electronics and anything that needed fixing. Doyle was a long time member of Enid First Assembly Church and he was involved with Peru missions where he made one missions working trip.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Larry Don.
