Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and life partner, Jennifer Lynn Duncan peacefully left this world on May 20th, 2022. She passed away without any known illness and was healthy during her life. Jenny is the daughter of Gary M. Duncan and Sung O. Duncan of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her brother, Bryan G. Duncan and sister-in-law, Lucia Y. Duncan, nephew, Cameron H. Duncan, and life partner, Arthur R. Sandt.

Jenny was born in Seoul, South Korea, on March 22, 1983. She attended Seoul American Elementary School and Seoul American High School. During her childhood in South Korea, she was a very curious child who always strived to learn difficult things. She excelled in academics and athletics and was highly valued by peers and coaches. Following high school, she graduated from "THE" Ohio State University then continued her post-graduate studies at University of Maryland School of Social Work and received a Master's degree in Social Work.

From infancy, Jenny was a very selfless person who always thought about and cared for others. Family played a large role in Jenny's life. She loved family gatherings and looked forward to generously preparing many different kinds of foods. She was a phenomenal cook and could find special and loving ways to make any meal taste fantastic. She was very loved by her family. Unlike some brothers and sisters, Jenny was very close to her brother, Bryan, and continued to communicate with him daily up to the time of her passing. Jenny was also very close with Bryan's wife, Lucia, and loved her like a sister. Jenny spoke with her mother and father daily to ensure they were doing well. She consistently devoted her time and efforts to help her parents, alleviate stress, and convey compassion and love. She also had a special connection with her only nephew, Cameron, who she always showered with love and affection. Jenny's love for her family was endless.

Jenny met the love of her life, Arthur, after relocating to Maryland for employment. Jenny and Arthur treated each other very well for the 10+ years they have been together. They experienced a relationship filled with love, affection, generosity, and appreciation. Their love also includes adoration of their beloved cat Bacon, who they consider as a daughter, and each other's families. Jenny and Arthur had many plans to live a long and healthy life together, and enjoyed many shared activities such as mutual art projects, puzzles, watching cartoons, and exploring great food with each other. They also expanded each other's lives to find beauty in unfamiliar endeavors, such as gardening, hockey games, and late-night shopping. Jenny and Arthur would often make each other laugh, finish each other's sentences, and had an infinite number of inside jokes and personal references. They cherished each other and brought out the best in each other.

Jenny took great pride in various occupational roles with the Department of Veterans Affairs since her start in the spring of 2008. In her most prominent role as a social worker, she worked to improve the lives of military servicemembers through individual and group psychotherapy. She earned the respect and admiration of her peers, superiors, and customers. She had a natural talent for connecting with others, being attuned to human experiences, and was a sophisticated and gifted helper. She made a difference in others' lives. Jenny was also an enthusiastic scholar that was always looking for ways to improve herself in order to help others do the same. She formed strong, lasting and meaningful relationships with her team members and worked to make her work environment better for everyone. She loved her team members, and they loved her.

Jenny was a truly exceptional friend. She naturally exhibited a cheerful sparkle that left people feeling drawn to her. She would regularly befriend others at places like the grocery store, car dealership, or frequented restaurants. Jenny formed meaningful relationships with close friends and would often share gifts, send thoughtful messages, and express love fearlessly. She had a gift of being unapologetically herself, and would act in a genuine and honest manner that others loved. She enjoyed a wide range of interests such as reading, music, whimsical art, sports, cartoons and murder mysteries, and cooking. She was a worldly individual that utilized her diverse interests to connect with others from all walks of life.

Jenny inspired others to live, laugh, and love whole-heartedly. Jenny's family and friends are experiencing a tremendous loss with Jenny's passing, and this world has been a better place with her in it. We hope God has a plan to utilize her skills in Heaven to make it an even better world. We hope she will be watching us until we meet again.
