Charles Hansil Hughes, age 88, of Benton, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born March 1, 1934 in Bismarck, Arkansas to the late James and Jessie Miller Hughes. Charles was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Sarida Hughes; four sons, Chuck Jr., Arty, David, and Roger Hughes; daughter, Sheila Claxton; sister, Maxine Hulst; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Fairplay Cemetery. Carolyn Hannah will be officiating.
