Carol Ann Cox, 76, died June 3, 2022, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO. Carol was born on October 11, 1945, in Sterling, KS, to Everett Lee and Opal Pearl (Lyon) Swenson.

Carol received her GED from Hutchinson Community College in 1968. On September 5, 1961, she married Robert Earl Cox in Lyons, KS. He died on May 28, 1995. Carol was a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary while Robert was a fireman. Carol worked in the cafeteria at Allen Grade School and Sherman Jr. High; she worked at Caldwell Greenhouse and also worked at Walmart as a cashier and in the pharmacy. Carol loved animals and plants, worked as a volunteer for Grief Support Network, and in the 1980's she made homemade Care Bears.

Carol is survived by: son, Steve Cox (Kelley Munden); daughter, Kimberly Cox; grandchildren, Micheal Smith (Megan), Ryan Smith (Traci), Katherine Schott (Michael), Allison Fischer and Stefani Voorhees; great-grandchildren, Gabe Jackson, Brennan Schott, and Lyric Smith; sister, Connie Suhler; brothers, Paul and Cecil Swenson.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral service will be Saturday June 11, 2022 at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Todd Ray presiding. Family will receive friends and family on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials made be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main St., Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
