Donald G. Higley, 69, Gladstone, MO, died Saturday, June 12, 2004. A Celebration of Donald's Life will be held Wednesday, June 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at D. W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel, 6600 N. Antioch, Gladstone, MO, following cremation. The family requests no flowers and suggests, instead, memorial contributions in Donald's memory to Harvesters Community Food Network, 1811 N. Topping, Kansas City, MO 64120 or to the National Association of Clock and Watch Collectors Museum, 514 Poplar, Columbia, PA 17512. Donald was born January 13, 1935 in Trout Creek, NY to George and Fannie (Puffer) Higley and was a resident of the Delaware County area prior to joining the US Air Force. He served three tours in England and one tour in Southeast Asia before retiring from active duty; following 21 years of service. Donald then began his second career with the Department of Labor, as a safety compliance officer and again retired after 21 years of service. His hobbies included clock and antique collecting and restoration, landscaping and gardening, and talking to everyone who went by. Donald's true passion, though, was his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara (Robinson) Higley; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Bailey; son and daughterin-law, Leon and Phyllis Higley; grandchildren, Jared and Alicia Bailey and Addison and Cameron Higley; 2 sisters, 1 brother and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives in the Delaware County area.
