John was born March 3, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to the union of Rudolph Sr. and Massie Sutton. He departed this life on August 5, 2021, in his home, with his loving wife by his side.
John is preceded in death by both parents; son, Elton John Sutton; sisters, Elizabeth Thames, Barbara Stubbs, and Georgette-Rose Sutton; brothers, Rev. Rudolph Sutton Jr., and James-Jimmy Sutton Sr.
John was raised and attended school in Swanton, Ohio. He accepted Christ at an early age. In the mid-seventies, John enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Riverside Hospital, and then he went to St Anne's Hospital retiring after 30 years of service.
John enjoyed fishing, gardening, old-school music, and dancing. He also enjoyed washing and waxing his custom-made "PT Cruiser". John was a sharp dresser from head to toe, always coordinating in any color outfit.
