James Floyd Jordan, departed this life at the age of 100 on June 3, 2022,
at Crestpark Retirement Home in Forrest City, AR. He was (aka, Papaw,
P-Pops, & Pops) He was preceded in death by his wife Duclie O. Jordan
and a daughter Brenda Staggs. He leaves behind two sons, Thomas Roy
Jordan and his wife Sherry Mae of Trumann, AR. James Keith Jordan and
wife Rhonda of Forrest City. Four daughters, Sherry Kennedy and husband
Anthony of Palestine, Lenetta Malone of Searcy, Lisa Parson and husband
Danny of Palestine. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jordan is a veteran of WWII, where he earned the WWII Victory
Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, American
Defense Service Ribbon, and AP Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Service
Stars, one Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and one
Bronze Star G0 23 Hq. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army
never left him, as family and friends will attest to that.
He loved to raise beagles, hunt, garden, eat out and shop. There was
never a dull moment in the life of James Floyd Jordan (Shakey Shack)
even when he side-swiped the mirror off of a police car trying to see if it
was someone he knew.
For the last 28 years, he has been a member of Revival Tabernacle
Church, which merged with the Forrest City Church of God in 2014. He has
been a faithful steward and has served in every capacity with excellence.
His favorite scripture is found in John 1 versus 1-5
In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Services will be held Sunday, June 5, at 2 pm at the Forrest City Church of
God, 2450 Highway 1 South, under the direction of Stevens' Funeral Home
Forrest City. With Pastor Anthony Kennedy officiating. Visitation is open to
the public from 12- 2.
Pallbearers are Danny Parson, Caleb Parson, Clyde Kennedy, Adam Kennedy, Lyle Kennedy, and Dustin Mallard. Honorary Pallbearer is Ethan Jordan.
