On June 1st, Don passed away at the age of 81 years with his daughters by his side.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Donald Everett Barrett and Anne Douglas Barrett, his beloved wife of 51 years, Judy Anderson Barrett, daughters Robin Dawn Barrett and Terry Lynn Barrett and sister Gwen Atwood Andersen and brother Brent Joseph Biggs.

He passionately loved and defended his country, serving 4 years in The United States Navy and later served in The United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he served a Goodwill Mission, risking his life in Honduras to help locals build an Orphanage for the children. During this time he built life-long friendships with members of the Honduras community.

He was a lover of the outdoors especially fishing and camping. He loved his dog Sydney and was once featured in the Lifestyle section of the Salt Lake Tribune with a photo of Sydney and Don playing catch.

Don was married to Judy, the love of his life, on November 23, 1963 and remained married until her death in 2014. Although he was not a big fan of getting his photo taken, he was a very handsome man! Don loved restoring old cars and was an avid reader, reading over 1,400 books. Don was a favorite uncle to many of his nieces and nephews. Don worked as a bail bonds man at Beehive Bail Bonds, and also performed large machinery maintenance at NL, AMAX and Yankee Candle Company. He also worked for the National Parks and Recs at Capitol Reef as well as performed maintenance at several local apartment communities, before retiring when he was diagnosed legally blind.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery located at 6500 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT 84123.
