DALE LESTER MILLER

1940 – 2007
Dale Lester Miller, 66, died June 13 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A celebration of life will begin at noon Saturday at the Union Sportsman's Club. A potluck lunch will be served afterward. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Dale was born Dec. 19, 1940, to Lester and Ida Miller in La Grande. He was one of three children. He graduated from high school in Cove and then entered the Navy in 1963. He was attached to the 115 Attack Squadron, where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He completed his tour of duty in 1966. Dale was a volunteer fireman for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, mushrooming and gardening. He is survived by his children, Russell Miller of Portland, Jeff Miller of La Grande, Jody Hillyard of Vancouver, Wash., and Rick Miller of Bakersfield, Calif., and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: his sister, Irene Locken and his twin brother, Dallas Miller, who died in April. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cove School, 803 Main, Cove 97824 in care of the football program.

Dale was Cremated, part of the Ashes scattered on Parents Grave, the rest in Space 12.
