"Services for Joseph Michael Martello, a retired supervisor of engineers for Sacramento City Traffic Department, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday (9 Dec 1991) in Andrews Greilich Chapel, 3939 Fruitridge Road. Burial will be private.
He died Thursday morning at a local nursing home at the age of 82. Mr. Martello had worked about 30 years for the city before retiring in 1974.
Born in Carrieri Mississippi, he settled with his parents in Sacramento as a child. He served with the Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post# 61 and the Sacramento City Golf Club.
Mr. Martello is survived by his children Darlene Martello-Ryan of Sacramento and Michael Joseph Martello of Denver, CO; and three grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Bettie; sisters Katherine Antonuccio and Nancy Fortado; brothers Carl, Cozy, Frank and Sam.
The family requests that any remembrances be made to the Sacramento Heart Foundation, 3900 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95819."
