Funeral services for Terrence Kane Goree, Jr, age 29, of Cooper, Texas will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs with Rev. Chris Kelley officiating and Rev. Fred Lewis assisting. Military graveside honors will be at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Chad Graves, Jake Haddock, Bryan Palmer, Jason Besteman, James Branch and Danny Jennings serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Paris Fire Department, Grapevine Fire Department and the Hopkins County Fire Department. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, TX. T.K. passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1978 in Santa Ana, TX, the son of Terrence Kane Goree and Debra Croft Dunn. He married Jennifer Johnson on September 30, 1996 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She survives. T. K. was a firefighter for the City of Paris, TX. He served in the United States Army for nine years, 16 months of that was served in Iraq. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Other survivors include: sons, Zachary Goree and Khristian Goree of Cooper, TX; daughter Mariah Goree of Cooper; parents T. K. Goree, Sr, of Houston, TX; mother, Debra Dunn and husband Kennith Dunn of Miller Grove, TX; brother, David Dunn of Sulphur Springs, TX; sister, Desine Rushing and husband Drew of Hemphill, TX; grandfather, Ben Walker of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandmother, Mavis Croft of Coleman, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. A memorial fund as been set up in the name of Terrence K. Goree at 1st National Bank, P. O. Box 349, Cooper, TX 75432.
