Mr. Henry Miller, one of our most prominent German citizens, died at about ten o'clock last night. He was born in the year 1824, in Marburg, state of Hesse, Germany, and hence was fifty-seven years of age at the time of his death. He came to this city in 1852, and has since resided here, though he emigrated to America many years before. He leaves a wife, one son and four daughters. The son is John H. Miller, the daughters are Mrs. A. W. Steinboemer, Mrs. J. G. Bengel, Mrs. C. A. Richter, and Minnie, aged about eleven years. These have the sympathy of friends in their bereavement. Henry Miller possessed force of character in an eminent degree, and was a successful business man.
He will be buried from St. John's Lutheran church. IL State Register, Springfield, IL 6-17-1881
