Maxine Folsom Stancampiano died without pain on May 27, 2022 in Oklahoma City. She was born September 29, 1925 in Stigler, OK to George Dewey and Linnie Dore (Gilstrap) Folsom. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Jeremiah Stancampiano, her brothers: Robert, John, Frank & Kee, her sisters, Louella & Carolyn, her son, Peter and her daughters Annette & Joanmarie. Maxine grew up on the family farm in Haskell County, OK, graduated from high school at the age of sixteen and then attended Connors State College in Warner, OK. She worked at the Western Union in Muskogee, OK during World War II where she met her husband. They were married on October 4, 1944. Eventually Maxine and Joe made their way to Oklahoma City where they raised their seven children and she finished her degree in education at Central State. She taught home economics and marriage classes at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School for over fifteen years. Maxine was a founding member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she became a pillar of the community. She loved sewing, quilting and spending quality time with her family, including 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was even known to pinch hit in the front yard wiffle ball games from time to time. She is survived by her sister Edith Roye of Ashland, Virginia, sons Michael, Anthony & Thomas Stancampiano, daughters Paula McConnell & Maribeth Ward and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maxine would want you to honor her life by spending time with your loved ones telling stories and enjoying their company. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, June 13th at 10:00 am.
