John (Jack) William Cody of Southbury, Connecticut passed away comfortably on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Jack was born on November 11, 1933 to Kathryne and Michael Cody in Bridgeport, CT. After serving his country in the US Army, Jack married the love of his life, Eleanor Claire (Jackson) Cody and had three sons. Jack is survived by his son's, Mark, Michael and John; grandsons, Ryan and Sean and granddaughters, Lindsay, Meghan, Olivia, Katie and Jillian and great-granddaughter, Addison and his brother, William (Bill) Cody; Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor and sister Barbara Gross.
Jack was a dedicated and loving husband, father, coach and friend to many. Jack was able to continue his education and achieved his master's degree in mechanical engineering. No matter what the role, Jack always had a smile and gave 100%. Jack was employed at Ashcroft Inc for over 40 year and this same upbeat attitude and dedication was witnessed everyday at Ashcroft. Jack was also a professor for the State of Connecticut University's, part-time, teaching classes from basic math to more advanced levels. That same passion could be seen by the extra hours he would willingly offer to help students understand class assignments, to the point that on any given Saturday he could be found at his kitchen table with a student helping them better themselves.
Jack's family were the most rewarded by his positive attitude, through many hardships and the passing of his wife Eleanor, Jack was always there to support them in all of their endeavors, including weddings and grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, October 8 at 10:30 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury
