Joseph W. Brandt, 87, formerly of Centerville Court, North Syracuse, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Brandt was a life resident of Syracuse. He retired in 1963 as a Chrysler Corp. machinist. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 624. Mr. Brandt was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Schultz of Brewerton and Evelyn Groph of Central Square; two sisters, Theresa Young and Mary Barnhart; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
