Franklin "Frankie" Dale Adkins, a resident of Grimes, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his residence. He was 81 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

Frankie was born on December 29, 1940, in Dale County and lived in Grimes all his life. He attended Midland City High School and was later employed with Dothan Auto Parts for 35 years until he retired in 2002. Frankie later worked with his son, Nick together they operated a lawn care service for 9 years. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his family and fishing anywhere he could find a puddle of water. Frankie also enjoyed working on cars, especially his favorite 1972 Ford pickup truck that was known to have loud glass packed mufflers. He was a member of Mt. Zion Assembly of God Church. Frankie was an easy-going guy who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Idell Adkins, and brother, Ralph Adkins.
