Mrs. Sheila A. Armstrong, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022, with family by her side. Sheila was born to Constance Chalkly and Jock Baldwin on August 29,1936 in Harrow Middlesex, England. A longtime resident of Rome, NY, she was married to John Vincent Armstrong from 1955 until his passing in 2003 and she was preceded in death by her son Vincent John Armstrong.
She was a strong loving woman and a USAF military wife for over 25 years. She especially loved her family more than anything and was gifted with nine children. She cherished spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and visiting with friends.
She is survived by eight children: John and Debbie Armstrong of Rome, NY; Nancy and Tom Nieva of Las Vegas, NV; Marie Armstrong of Punta Gorda, FL; Connie and Wayne Brown of Fort Walton Beach, Fl; Cathy McDaniel of Whitesboro, NY; Helen Abraham of Hope Mills, NC; Steven and MaryJo Armstrong of Rome, NY; Teresa and Jim Pruett of San Antonio, TX. She has 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas Church, Cherry Valley, NY on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Calling hours will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by services at 11 AM.
