Evelyn Jean Linnebur, 75, died June 1, 2022 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on May 30, 1947 at Hollister, California the daughter of Richard Joseph and Alma Almeda (Thompson) Favreau.

Jeannie moved a lot in her younger years while her dad was in the oil field, before settling in Protection. She spent most of her life in Protection, before moving to Dodge City in 1972. She married on August 5, 1988. Jeannie worked as the manager at the City Pool in Protection for many years. After moving to Dodge City, she worked at the Pizza Inn as a waitress and doing the bookkeeping. She later worked for a trucking company before starting a career with United Telephone, where she worked for 35 years before retiring.

Jeannie's life was centered around her family and friends, known to her family as "G". She loved having pool parties and grilling on the weekends during the summer, and she was the unofficial family swim teacher; teaching her children, granddaughter, and great grandchildren. Jeannie also enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her family, playing softball when she was younger and bowling in league for many years. She was a member of the "Poker ladies" a group that got together each week to play Poker and have desserts. Jeannie loved all things Christmas, there was not a room in her house that wasn't decorated to enjoy for many months. She also loved flamingos and garden decorations. She will be remembered for her heart of gold.

She is survived by her husband, daughters,; one granddaughter, three great grandchildren, and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alma Favreau.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Protection Cemetery in Protection. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
