Thomas Lawson born July 7, 1936 in Gainesville Ga. passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on May 31, 2022 at Fairfax Hospital he is survived by his wife of 60 yrs. Janice Lawson whom he met while both were serving in the U.S. Army. Tom served 6 years in the U.S. Army to the rank of Sgt. Major and spent 30 year's working for the Federal government until he retired. He was a member of the local VFW, Fraternal Order of the Moose and was a Boy Scout leader. Tom spent his time and retirement at his second occupation of attending the many functions, activities and events of his many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom enjoyed spending time traveling especially local day trips, collecting and looking for antiques with his wife Janice. Tom is also survived by his children Michael Lawson, Cindy Posey and Mark Lawson; brother Roy Lawson; in-laws Naomi Lawson and Doris Lawson; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Tom is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Joesph and Alice Lawson; brothers Henry Lee Lawson and J.T. Lawson.
