Janis Lea Tarrant Smith, 61, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Big Sandy, Texas. She was born on January 31, 1957, in Stamford, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Cooper Smith of Lindale, Texas and his wife, Kayli; step-daughter, Heather Jones of Hallsville, Texas and her husband, Curtis; sister, Susan McLaughlin of Silsbee, Texas and her husband, Larry; two grandchildren, Lane and Mason Davenport, both of Hallsville, Texas; nephew, Jason McLaughlin of Flower Mound, Texas and his wife, Amanda; best friend, Becki Waller of Hawkins, Texas; three great nieces and many loving friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Bill and Manon Tarrant and niece, Laura McLaughlin.
She served as City Secretary for Hawkins, Texas for over 30 years.
The family will receive visitors at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins, Texas on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
