He was born on September 28, 1934 in Westfield the son of the late William P. and Mina (Cotter) Powers.
William proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Following his service in the Army, he was an Operations Manager and Director of Telephone Services for Contel Phone Company / GTE until he retired. He was the former President of the West Virginia Telephone Company.
William was a senior member of Pine Lodge Hunting Camp in Tioga County.
Along with his love for his work, he was an avid golfer, gardener, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother: Richard G. Powers.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Arlene; his daughters: Kristi Bracale and fiance Rick Paxton of Carlisle and Julie (Christopher) Hohney of Harrisburg; his sons: Michael (Kay) of St. Mary's, West Virginia and Steve (Kristine) of Hummelstown; his granddaughters: Hannah Bracale, Katharine Bracale, and Rylee Hohney; his grandsons: Corey Powers, Craig Powers, Mitch Powers, Andy Powers, and Rowan Hohney; his great-granddaughter: Norah Powers; and his great-grandsons: Braden Powers, Corbin Powers, and Maddox Powers.
Private interment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 09:30 AM.
