William Wayne Patterson, "Bill", of Wytheville, passed away on Tuesday May 31, 2022. He was born in Wytheville, VA to the late Julian Ovid and Inez Blair Patterson on June 9, 1949.

He graduated from Fort Chiswell High School in 1967. He was a member of the Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge #235, and attended Pine Mountain Pentecostal Church in Independence, VA. Bill was well known for his towering stature, love for his family and friends, and helping others in his community. He had a passion for farming, driving his dump truck and his other heavy equipment, electrical work, and spending time with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Workman, and brother, Julian Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lois Roberts Patterson; two sons, Jonathan Halsey and wife Erin of Newton, NC; Brandan Halsey and wife Rachel of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Brenna, Davin, Graham, and Owen; several nieces and nephews, friends and family members.

Funeral service Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Stuart officiating. Interment to follow in the West End Cemetery in Wytheville.
