Mark Curtis Hiatt
March 6, 1963 - May 6, 2006
Mark was born on March 6, 1963, in Richmond, CA. He would have been 50 years old today. He is celebrating with Our Lord and angels in Heaven above. We are remembering him today, as we do every day.
Mark played baseball and basketball in school. He liked fishing, camping, bike riding and watching NASCAR Races. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed singing and won several trophies singing karaoke. He was known as "Cowboy Mark" for wearing jeans, cowboy hat, boots and western shirt. He looked pretty sharp and sounded good too. He had a great sense of humor and liked to tease me. At one of our family birthday parties, as everyone was eating cake and ice cream, I looked over and noticed that our son-in-law was using a large wooden spoon to eat with, I jumped up and said "you don't need to use that" everyone started laughing, Mark got me again. Mark was a good, decent, caring person with a good heart. Because he was short on some credits, he didn't get to graduate with his class. You know the saying "he would give the shirt off his back," but in this case it was shoes. His good friend was not looking forward to graduation because he did not have a decent pair of shoes, so Mark loaned him his. After high school Mark went to summer school and earned his diploma. He was very proud, as were we. After having a close encounter which could have ended tragically I feel very grateful to have my very own personal guardian angel.
Happy Birthday Mark, I love you so very much.
