Although she has called Savannah her home for the past 45 years, she received her nursing degree in Houston, Texas in 1957. Ann mainly worked private duty cases. However, for the past 25 years she has worked for the Sisters of Mercy Convent in Savannah.
Survivors include her husband, Marcus Dukes of Daisy, Ga. Two children, Cindy Ewald-Johnson and Paul Nelson Dubroc. Four grand-children, Erin & Alex Johnson of Mobile, AL, 2 great-grandsons, Bryce and Camden Johnson of Mobile, 2 granddaughters, Madison and Bella Dubroc of Savannah. Her sister, Jan McClean from Raleigh, N.C. Her niece and family, Kim and Bill Vidor, children Eric, Emily, and Kelly of Houston, Texas.
Ann was a member of the Savannah Elks Club for 24 years. A lover of dance she and her husband started the Savannah Dance Club Group. She loved people and arranging flowers. Ann spent a good deal of her time helping others in need. She and her husband Marcus, traveled extensively around the world.
Preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Hinkle and John and Mattie Lanier of Brooklet, Georgia.
Visitation will begin at 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 with the funeral services to follow at 1:00pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home-Hubert C Baker Chapel. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Cemetery East.
