Betty M. (Hand) Watson, 97, of Adah, formerly of Ardara, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022. She was born Nov. 26, 1924, in McCullough, a daughter of the late William and Sylvia (Patterson) Hand.

She was a longtime member of the Ardara United Presbyterian Church in Ardara. where she taught Sunday school for more than 35 years. She worked in the Norwin School cafeteria for more than 25 years and spent more than eight years as the bus monitor for Laidlaw before retiring. She was a great cook, loved sewing, traveling and participated in the Tri-area Bowler League.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren W. Watson; grandson, Michael Watson; daughter-in-law, Karen Watson; brothers, Edward and William Hand; and sister, Marie Eyler. She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Hanna, of Cleveland, Ohio, Warren "Bizz" (Beth) Watson, of Topeka, Kan., Glenn Watson, of Thurmont, Md., and Linda (Jeff) Schliffka, of Adah; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marjorie) Hand, of Lakeland, Fla.; and sister, Lois Schmidt, of Greensburg.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone will gather for a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Glenn Meyers and Tom Steiner officiating. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Township.
