Amos "Corky" Dobson
April 11, 1945 - May 20, 2022

Amos "Corky" Dobson passed away at home on Friday May 20th. His daughter was at his side, just as she had been throughout his five-month struggle to survive two rare disorders. Corky was born April 11, 1945, to parents, Amos Alton Dobson, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Hodges in Brandon, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife, a daughter and her husband, a brother, two sisters, three granddaughters, a grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After Corky's graduation from Brandon High School, he joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and was honorable discharged in 1968. His training in the Air Force was the foundation for his lifetime career in computer services. Corky met Susie, his wife of 54 years, while stationed at Kelly Field Air Force Base here in San Antonio, Texas.

Corky loved music and singing all his life! Singing in both quartets and chorus, he was a longtime member of the local Barbershop Harmony Society, and he also sang in several church choirs. Corky dearly loved his family, always making his life choices to protect them. He also loved his friends, both human and animal, always eager to help with computer problems or anything else that was needed. As for his "animal" friends, the neighborhood dogs would choke themselves to get off their leashes to run to Corky to get his loving touch. He will dearly be missed by many. The family wants to thank "the many" who showed their love and their support throughout Corky's brave fight!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to Western Hills Christian Church, 8535 Huebner Rd., San Antonio or to the charity of your choice.

Interment: Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
