Marjorie Ann Hard Beatty, 79 passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home in Spring, Texas, after a long battle with cancer.

Marjorie was born on Tuesday, January 05, 1943, at 8:12pm, at Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas to Raymond Alfred Hard retired District-chief of the Houston Fire Department and Margaret Katherine (Wright) Hard a wife and homemaker.

Marjorie graduated from Sam Houston High School where she lettered in archery. She then married, William 'Bill' Holbert Beatty, on August 22, 1969. They've created a beautiful family and life together for some 53 years.

Marjorie enjoyed vacations and road trips; she loved the outdoors, and had a natural talent as an artist. Marjorie passions included crafts, painting and researching genealogy. Marjorie's efforts documented her mother's family (The Wright's) back to 1843 in Texas.

She was proud knowing she had researched her lineage back to The Republic of Texas. And something she has passed to her children and their children as a member of the…. Sons and Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

She is a member of:

• UDC(United Daughters of the Confederacy) Thomas Jefferson Stubbs Chapter

• DRT (Daughters of the Republic of Texas).

Marjorie started her employment at the City of Houston in the payroll department

She then dedicated her life as a wife homemaker and church volunteer. Even dabbled in entrepreneurship starting ABC Gifts and ceramics in the 80's..Later she worked for Cunningham Gas Products doing accounting and in-side sales.

Marjorie was an active member of Spring Baptist Church, until she selflessly became primary care giver of multiple family members declining in health. This time it was her battling cancer for six plus years. Finally, after having enough of chemo and radiation treatments. She chose to go home and spend her remaining time with her family and grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters Vivian Lee (Hard) Green, and Mary Frances (Hard) DeLong. Marjorie is survived by husband William 'Bill' Hobert Beatty of Spring, Tx; Son Richard Wayne (Hollis) Beatty an engineer of Monroe, Georgia, daughter Pauline Laverne (Beatty) Casey License and Permit Specialist for the Texas Department of Public Safety in Spring, Tx, son William 'Billy' Hobert Beatty Jr Captain in the Houston Fire Department Daughter N Law Jacki Dowling Beatty from Willis, TX. Grandchildren; Jared Keith Follmer, Kinsley Micah Beatty, and Luke Raymond Casey; Step Grandchildren Forest Duane Dowling, Faith Christine Dowling and Foster Blake Dowling; great-grandson Douey William Follmer and Step great granddaughter Evelynn Lee Dowling.

A visitation for Marjorie will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 3, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Friday, June 3, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. The family invites everyone to the church for a dinner and fellowship following the service at Spring Baptist Church.
