Richard grew up in West Oak Lane. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School, and went on to obtain a Bachelors degree from La Salle University and a Masters from Trenton State College. Richard worked in the Philadelphia School District his entire career, as a Social Studies teacher and department head. He was also a proud builder and developer with his father-in-law and best friend, George Hughes.
Richard enjoyed summer vacations with his family in Ocean City, NJ. His hobbies included antiquing, and working on his home and garden. He was happiest when he was with his wife, watching his kids and grandkids swim in their backyard pool.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Church, 8320 Brookside Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027. His graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.
Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Efren V. Esmilla from St. James Church.
