Born April 16, 1935, in Atoka, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille (Leslie) Billings. Marilyn was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn. She married her husband July 21, 1957, and resided in Morocco for several years as a Navy wife.
She and her husband relocated to Covington Twp., where they raised their family. Before her retirement, Marilyn was employed for more than 25 years by Keystone Community Resources.
Marilyn was a dedicated and active member of the Daleville United Methodist Church, where she served in multiple capacities. She was a member of the Willing Workers of the church and the Methodist Women. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to express thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Joann and Tara, and Timber Ridge Health Care for their dedicated and loving care.
Surviving are her daughters, Lucy A. Morris of Covington Twp. and Karen S. Harrity and husband, Jack, of Scranton; her grandchildren, Cassidy and Jack Harrity; her brothers, Bill, Mike, Earl and Henry Billings, all of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Morris and James W. Morris Jr., and her brother, Harold Billings.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services will be conducted privately.
Interment will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park. A memorial service is planned at Daleville United Methodist Church in the spring.
